Macau Star Mfg. Co., Ltd. was founded in 1979 by Mr. Leung Hoi. At that time, the mill rented a manufactory of more than 7,500 square feet with an annual output of about 12,000 dozens sweaters and was staffed by only about 50 people. Although it was operated on a small capital. Mr. Leung successfully turned his mill into a flourishing one with his work experience, solid work style and an influx of immigrants from mainland China. Now, with an annual output of 30,000 dozens, the mill occupies a building area of more than 10,000 square feet and is staffed by about 120 people.

In the early 1980s, with China's economic reform and opening of market in full swing, mainland China enjoyed political stability and prosperity. A great number of entrepreneurs went northward into the mainland to set up factories and mills. As a result, the shrinking textile industry in Hong Kong and Macau was revitalized very swiftly.

In 1982, our mill joined in the trend of setting up factories and mills in the mainland and founded Sanluen Knitting Factory in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. Initially, it rented a village building area of 10,000 square feet as mill building and was staffed by more than 150 people. Through the striving work and improvement for more than ten years, the mill has been expanded into its present size: it now has a four-story mill building with an building area of more than 40,000 square feet and a staff of more than 500. With its foundations consolidated, the mill purchased a piece of land in 1998 and began constructing a three-story building with a floor area of 60,000 square feet. The new building is expected to be put into operation in 1999. By then, the number of staff will be increased to 600 and its annual output will exceed 70,000 dozens.

As if in the twinkling of an eye. Macau Star Mfg. Co., Ltd. has been in operation for nearly 20 years. During this period, the mill has won the credit of our clients with support from various friends and joint efforts by our staff. During this period, our mill has made such brand names as:
